Stoke City boss Tony Pulis admitted that his side were second best as they lost 3-1 today at Swansea City.
The Swans won the game rather comfortable as the game came to life in second half when Ben Davies opened the scoring before de Guzman added a brace.
The visitors got a late goal back from substitute Michael Owen, but it was very much too little too late for Stoke as they struggled throughout the game to pose any attacking threat on the Swansea goal.
Pulis said:
"Right from the first whistle to the last whistle, we were second best,"
"Over the course of a season, you have your good days, you have your bad days. This was certainly a bad day for us and there are no excuses for that.
"For whatever reason, it just didn`t go for us. We looked sluggish and were a yard short which you can`t afford to be against a side of Swansea`s quality.
"I thought that Cameron Jerome`s miss when we were still 2-0 down really summed up our day. We just have to take this on the chin and try to bounce back."
Pulis did have a couple of excuses for his side's poor performance, but he still want to avoid praising the Swans, who were well worthy of the three points. He added:
"It probably didn`t help us that we came down here early and then couldn`t do much because of the snow for a couple of days.
"And we went into this game without three of our recognised full-backs due to injury, but I don`t want to take anything away from Swansea.
"The attitude of their players was fantastic. They kept going after they had missed a number of good chances and they deserved their victory."
