Canas Move To Swansea City 'Very Close'

Canas Move To Swansea City 'Very Close'

Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas is 'very close' to completing a move to Swansea City, according to Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague.

For those of you unaware of who Guillem Balague is, he's highly thought of when it comes to European football and he knows a thing or two about the Spanish leagues.

Balague was also interviewed on Sky Sports News when Swansea City confirmed Michael Laudrup as their new manager last June.

Balague posted the following on a website:

CaƱas, a hard working midfielder from Betis, is continuing discussions with both Betis and Swansea about a move this month.

It is very close. Swansea offered 1 million euros and few euros more, would take the player whose contract finishes at the end of the season.

Balague believes Canas would be a 'great signing' who could become a regular at Swansea City. He added:

And what a great signing it will be for Michael Laudrup -great positioning sense, understanding of the game, good passer but not great, constant work for 90 minutes.

Give him a couple of months to adapt and he will be a regular at Swansea and another clever signing.'

It was reported this week that Canas had apparently accepted Laudrup's 18-month contract to join the Swans, and with Betis struggling financially, it shouldn't take a big fee to complete the signing as he is out of contract in June.
