Lambert Hails Huge Point At Swansea City

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert hailed claiming a 'huge point' at Swansea City but felt his side should have held on for all three after conceding an injury-time equaliser.

Villa looked like heading for another big defeat in the first half that saw the Swans score one goal and miss another four clear-cut chances. They were punished for not converting them as Weimann netted just before half time to give them a vital boost.

Benteke netted from the spot late on, but Danny Graham fired home a late equaliser as Swansea City took a share of the points.

Lambert was pleased with his side's second half performance:

'It is a huge point although we should have seen it through.

'But it's a massive point and we were very good and threatening in the second half.

'In the first half they were coming at us from all angles and we had to weather that storm and we needed a couple of good saves from Brad and they also hit the woodwork.

'But to get the goal before half-time certainly helped us and it had a galvanising effect, it gives you something to get going and in the second half we were very good.

'We have been beaten heavily in the last three games so this is a huge point for the future of the club.
