Ferguson: We Should Have Scored 6 vs Swansea

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson felt his side should have scored 6 goals in today's 1-1 draw at Swansea City.

The Red Devils boss was clearly disappointed not to claim three points and keep a 6-point gap at the top of the Premier League table, but they couldn't find a second goal after half time.

Patrice Evra opened the scoring early on, heading home van Persie's corner, but Michu quickly responded with an easy tap in as de Gea could only parry de Guzman's powerful shot after a well-worked move into the box.

Ferguson shared his thoughts with BBC Sport and also criticised the referee:

'It should have been six. That's the disappointment,'

'We absolutely battered Swansea [in the second half].

'In the second half it was a marvellous performance by us and we were unlucky not to win it. We struck the bar twice and had some great chances.

'If there is a criticism then maybe it is that we were wasteful with the chances and we have to hold out hand up to that.'

'It really it should have been a foul for us when the defender fouled Van Persie but the referee has had one of those games,'

'I know he is a young referee but dear me what a performance that was.'
