Laudrup Confident Ahead Of Spurs Game

Laudrup Confident Ahead Of Spurs Game

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup says he's confident of his side's chances of getting a decent result at Spurs on Sunday.

After Wednesday's Cup win over Middlesbrough, Laudrup believes a trip to Spurs is the perfect game for his side as his players usually keep their focus and produce their best performances against the better sides. The Swans have played well against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea but struggled against Norwich, Reading and Southampton to name a few.

Despite playing in midweek, Laudrup told the official site that he's confident his side will be 100% focused as they're facing one of the top sides in the division.

"We have got respect for them,"

"They have a very good squad, with a couple of injured players on the way back and they are my favourites to finish fourth this season.

"Even though Gareth Bale may not play, they will have someone else who can come in and play well.

"But I am confident that we will produce another good performance, and I`m hoping the achievement of reaching the semi-final on Wednesday will compensate for any tiredness that we may have.

"We have confidence going into the game and we`ll go for it."

Laudrup says he's happy his side have a difficult game, he added:

"I`m happy that we have a difficult game this weekend,"

"Everyone knows that we will have to be at the top of our game and at 100 per cent, otherwise we will struggle.

"I`m very confident in the players and I know they will produce a good performance.

"But we know we are up against a very strong side and it will be a tough game."

Too defensive by far. We can't play that way, we are not capable of 90 minutes of rearguard action. Big long thoughts needed by Laudrup. Not good enough.
