Laudrup: Myself & Michu 'Not Going Anywhere'

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup says himself and Michu are 'not going anywhere' as the media love to speculate about their futures.

Despite not being linked to any other jobs following his move to Swansea City in June, Laudrup has assured fans that he, nor the club's top goalscorer are going anywhere anytime soon.

Michu has been linked to a few clubs recently, inevitably really given that he is the Premier League's joint top goalscorer with 10 goals in just 15 games.

However, Laudrup was keen to stress that they are both happy at the Liberty Stadium and are not going anywhere.

'We are not going anywhere,'

'I have read about Michu this week and you ask about me, but we are here,'

'I am very happy here and I think Michu is happy here as well, so we just have to continue working.

'I know the reason why people talk, and that is because things are positive for the club right now.

'But we have to maintain focus. We can't start talking about what might happen next summer or whenever, we have to focus on what's happening right now.'

Laudrup also stated previously this week that he believes Michu will stay also because no other club will make an offer big enough to tempt the Swans to sell their star man.

'I don't worry about January because I don't think anyone will come in with the money Michu is worth so he will stay here.

'Obviously everybody wants to play at the best clubs so they can try the Champions League or whatever. If that should happen, if a club at that level pay the amounts we are talking about and the player wants to go, then you cannot do anything.

'But unless that happens, I don't see a problem.

'Michu's record so far this season is fantastic and we are just happy that we have a player who can score important goals.'

The media will obviously look to speculate about both of their futures , it's what sells papers but in Laudrup's case particularly, he has stated since day one here that he has no real desire to join a bigger club like his predessecor did. Instead, he has ambitions of bringing success to a smaller club and helping to improve and develop players.

With regards to Michu, it would seem pointless leaving a club midway through a season. Especially since he is playing some of his best football of his career at a club currently sitting in 7th place in the Premier League. Unless of course, it was to join a massive club and the move was too good to turn down. Is that likely to happen in the New Year? Probably not.
