Di Matteo: We Had More Of The Game Than Swansea

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo thought his side had more of the game and more clear chances than Swansea City as they drew 1-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

He's fair with the assessment, as Chelsea did look like the side more likely to score prior to their 60th-minute opener. The Swans showed their character and desire though as they fought back and created what was a superb equalising goal from Pablo Hernandez.

di Matteo shared his reaction as his side lost top spot to Manchester United:

'We have certainly felt (tired) this week after the two games with Manchester United, including extra-time.

'It would have been great to finish off the week with a 1-0 victory. The disappointment is we have conceded a late equaliser.

'I thought we had more of the game and clear chances than Swansea.

'When the opposition equalises so late on then you tend to think it's a bit lucky.

'To be honest, they didn't have any real clear chances, but they scored a quality goal.'

Swansea City have boosted their confidence this week with three promising performances against three big sides. Whilst they were unlucky to lose 1-0 at Manchester City last Saturday, their performance was impressive. They carried that forward into the midweek Capital One Cup win at Liverpool, before today's excellent 1-1 draw against the former table toppers. Laudrup's side has looked more of a solid overall unit recently, and their passing has been more accurate too, with 88% accuracy today.

Boo hoo, they were tired jeezuz. Don't understand this "late goal" thought process. WHEN DOES A GOAL BECOME A LATE GOAL? ANY THOUGHTS? HELP ME OUT. Is it our fault that we waited so long to score or was it Chelsea's fault for letting us score or did we keep up the determination to score all the way to the death.
