Routledge Keen To Sign New Long Term Deal

Wayne Routledge eyes a long term future at Swansea City, and there is speculation suggesting that he is next to hold talks about a new contract.

The winger has been one of the club's best performers so far this season, having made 3 assists and scored 2 goals in the 8 appearances he's made so far - in which 5 he started.

After the club tied down Ashley Williams to a new 3-year contract, Wales Online believe that the Swans are now looking to extend Wayne Routledge's current deal - which currently expires at the end of next season.

The 27 year-old sounds like he'll definitely sign as he told the Sun:

"Hopefully, I can stay for longer than my current contract as I`m enjoying playing football for the club.

"I get on really well with the boys, the staff and everyone in the city."

Routledge had a rather disappointing season last year under former manager Brendan Rodgers, as he struggled to force his way into the first team ahead of Sinclair. But following Sinclair's move to Saturday's opponents Manchester City, the former Newcastle United winger has finally been given the opportunity by Michael Laudrup to show his quality on the left wing.

He's recently been sharing the left wing duties with Pablo Hernandez, but he's definitely been outperforming the Spaniard and certainly deserves a starting role at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.
