Lawrence Hoping To Return Saturday

Defender Dennis Lawrence is hoping to make a surprise return this Saturday when Swansea City entertain Bradford at the Liberty Stadium.

The 32 year-old is stepping up his rehabilition this week in the hope that he can return to full fitness for Saturday's game.

He suffered a groin injury early on in the Carling Cup defeat at home to Wycombe 2 weeks ago and it was originally thought that he would be out for a month or more.

However, it's unlikely that he'll be able to return to the starting line-up but there's certainly an outside chance he can make the substitute's bench.

Kenny Jackett said: ''He has had a good couple of days training with my physio,''

''and Richie (Evans) has told me that Denis should be back with the boys by Thursday and that there is a outside chance for being fit for Saturday.''

The only other players Jackett is without are Owain Tudur-Jones and captain Garry Monk, who's likely to miss the rest of the season.

Tudur-Jones' progress meanwhile is slowing and he's now looking at returning sometime in October.

Monk out for the rest of the season? If so that's a big loss.

yeah, when he plays the defence seem more controlled. he shouts at them so much and gets them into shape.

It will be good to see him back. But, who will he partner - Izzie or Tate?
willow
tate, he is on form at the moment and to put him on the bench would be stupid; i doubt lawrence will start though i read somewhere that he has an outside chance of even making the bench?
swanzboichris
