Graham: Vorm Sees Something Special at Swansea

Graham: Vorm Sees Something Special at Swansea

Danny Graham hopes Michel Vorm`s decision to sign a new long-term deal at Swansea City will stop the club`s other top players from wanting to leave for bigger teams.

Swansea signed Vorm last summer for £1.5m and the 28-year-old went on to win three of the club`s end of season awards; Players` Player of the Year, Supporters Player of the Year and the Away fans` award.

The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea were reportedly among those interested in the player but recently he signed a new four-year contract.

Graham told goalkeepers` website GK Icon:

"Michel has been unbelievable since he joined the club. Swansea made a big thing about losing Dorus De Vries and how they would replace him when he joined Wolves.

"Swansea like to use their goalkeeper as another outfield player and he has come in and been superb. He has every attribute to be a top, top goalkeeper.

"We are hoping that Michel signing will encourage others to do the same.

"The chairman has acted quickly in giving Michel a new deal. Ashley Williams, Neil Taylor and several others are also being sorted out.

"Michel stated he wanted to stay because he can see something special happening. For Michel to say that when he has been linked with some top teams is a great thing and hopefully the chairman can use that to his advantage and tie down some more players on contracts, and bring other players in to help the squad move forward."

Above is part of an interview Graham conducted with goalkeepers` website GK Icon, which runs coaching sessions for keepers of all ages across the country. Their website includes not only information on their courses, but advice for those hoping to improve as goalkeepers and also regular interviews with 'keepers. For more information go to
