Mixed Emotions For Laudrup After Reading Draw

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup was left with mixed emotions after seeing his side come back from a 2-goal deficit to draw 2-2 at home against Reading.

The Swans suffered a nightmare first half, as the visitors stormed into a 2-0 lead, but they struk back strongly after the break to score 2 goals to level, and they had further chances to claim all three points in an entertaining game at the Liberty Stadium.

Laudrup couldn't decide whether it was a point gained or two lost:

'I think it's difficult to describe how I feel right now,'

'On one hand I can't be satisfied with 2-2 at home to Reading but on the other hand, in the first 20 minutes we created three big chances.

The first time they come near our goal they score and then they get a second one. You are 2-0 down and you say 'what happened'.

'The three last games in the league we didn't score, so that's seven halves without scoring. I said to the boys, 'We have to get out of this and you are the only ones who can do it because you are on the pitch'.

'I think it was a fantastic second half and we created six or seven huge chances.

'I have to say that we should have had a penalty as well five minutes from the end. I think there were only three people who didn't see that.

'It was so obvious that it was a handball. It is called football, so it should be a penalty.'

Swansea City are in action next in two weeks time as they host Wigan Athletic after the international break.

Agreed--it was a penalty ...no doubt about it. But Hernandes still should have put the rebound in. Call me cynical but Hernandes had to come on didn't he--after all Sergio Garcia was watching him. What did Dyer do wrong to be taken off, along with Routledge he was the one who tried the most.

@Phil Dyer did nothing wrong. We have a luxury problem by having both Dyer & Hernandez. Personal mistakes in defence have been fatal for us. Two times Williams, once Chico and Vorm. Four goals given away. Taylor injured, Chico suspended for three games, Augustien injured. Williams, Britton and Guzman fighting with injuries. Reading was totally outplayed, they score two lucky goals and we don't get deserved penalty.

@antialias, There is no problem beween Dyer and Hernandes, Dyer has to play he is the better player. I agree that defensive mistakes are costing us but we are not scoring the goals at the other end, only 2 in 4 games now, that's not good enough. Ashley Williams is a big liability now, he is clearly struggling, I feel we need to play Monk and Tate and try and get some stability back. Also I feel we need to give Tiendalli a run, after all he was brought here to do a job when Taylor was injured and young Ben Davies is too inexperienced yet for lots of games.
