Dobbie Joins Orlandi At Brighton & HA

Stephen Dobbie will join former Swansea City team-mate Andrea Orlandi at Brighton & HA after signing a three-year contract with the Championship club.

Reports earlier today said that the attacking midfielder said farewell to his Swansea City colleagues as he was set to leave, with three Championship clubs showing an interet, including Bristol City and Middlesbrough.

The Scot struggled to get anywhere near the first team last season under former boss Brendan Rodgers and it's not too surprising to see manager Michael Laudrup decide to let him go before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.

Blackpool were very interested in signing Dobbie after enjoying having on loan on two seperate occasions, but they couldn't meet Swansea's asking price. It's not been revealed yet as to the fee Brighton will pay for his services.

Brighton manager Gus Poyet was delighted with his arrival and he told their official site:

"He is a quality striker, who will complement our existing forwards and give us different attacking options.

"He has great quality which will unlock defences and I have no doubt he will also score plenty of goals.

"He has played and proven himself at this level and in the Premier League. His goals helped Blackpool win promotion in 2010 and he returned on loan to help them reach the play-off final last season."
