Curtis Hopeful Of Cabral Signing

Swansea City first team coach Alan Curtis says they are hopeful of completing a move for Feyenoord's Jerson Cabral.

Curtis told Sky Sports News this morning that if they do pull off the move, it'll be at the last minute, as they have until 11pm to complete any signings on transfer deadline day.

However, the club face competition from Dutch side FC Twente, who have made a counter bid for the 21 year-old left-footed winger. There are also reports that Cabral would prefer to stay in his home country of Holland.

With Middlesbrough's Marvin Emnes ruled out as a possible signing today, the Swans have turned their attentions to Cabral, who could cost only £1.5m (it's reported a fee has been agreed), more than £3m cheaper than his fellow Dutchman.

The Swans will have to act fast in they are to bring in and complete the signing of a player from abroad, as the clock is ticking.

Pablo Hernandez is expected to complete a medical and sign a three-year contract today, whilst players could also leave the Liberty Stadium - including Stephen Dobbie and Leroy Lita, while a possible loan move to Bristol City for Garry Monk is likely to be delayed due to a back injury.

Really? That's rare for someone to reject the EPL for elsewhere.
