Hernandez Set To Join Swansea City
Reports in Spain this evening say that Pablo Hernandez will join Swansea City this week after Valencia agreed a fee of almost 7million euros for the winger.
Manager Michael Laudrup has been looking to sign the talented Spaniard for a number of weeks now, and the player's agent has also revealed how his client has expressed his desire to join the Premier League club.
Despite his wishes to leave Valencia for the Liberty Stadium, a potential move to South Wales has dragged on as the two clubs have been unable to agree a fee up until now.
It is expected, if the Spanish press are accurate, that Hernandez will complete the move by Friday's transfer deadline day.
The 27 year-old will say farewell to his Valencia team-mates on Thursday, before flying over to Wales to undergo a medical and sign the relevant paperwork - thought to be a three year deal.
To confirm the news, one Twitter message roughly translated from Spanish, read:
It's official, Pablo Hernandez is up to Swansea. Dispensable player for Valencia, very good reinforcement for Swansea. 7M.
Michael Laudrup knows Hernandez from his time at Getafe and he's likely to be a replacement for Scott Sinclair, who could complete a move to Manchester City.
