Record Signing Ki Cleared To Make Cup Debut

Swansea City's record signing Ki Sung Yeung has received international clearance today allowing him to be included in tonight's Capital One Cup squad to face Barnsley at the Liberty Stadium (7:45pm).

The young South Korean, arriving last week from Celtic for a record undisclosed fee, thought to be around £5.5m, comes in as a good all-round midfield replacement for Joe Allen - who joined Liverpool for £15m.

Michael Laudrup is expected to make big changes to his starting eleven for tonight's 2nd round tie in the League Cup, with the likes of Ben Davies, Kemy Agustien, Mark Gower, Alan Tate and Luke Moore all hoping for starting places.

Ki Sung Yeung says he can't wait to start playing for the Swans at the Liberty Stadium, and he'll hope to get the opportunity to impress tonight:

"I remember playing here for Celtic and the Swansea fans made a lot of noise,``

"This is a lovely stadium and I can`t wait to get out there and be a part of the team.``

Vital Swansea will be posting updates throughout tonight's game on twitter, which will also be shown on the homepage.
