Laudrup Set For Talks With Allen To Discuss Future

Manager Michael Laudrup says he's set to hold talks with Joe Allen about his future at Swansea City, as he returns from Team GB duty.

Team GB saw their medal hopes end on Saturday night when they lost on penalties to South Korea at the Millenium Stadium.

Wanted man Joe Allen returned to Swansea City for training on Monday, and while he didn't partake in a full session duty to his recent busy schedule, he had a brief chat with Laudrup, but it didn't relate to Liverpool's interest and their speculated 12.5m rejected bid.

Former boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring Joe Allen to Anfield, and he'll be close to succeeding in that if he bids 15m - the amount that would trigger a clause in the youngster's contract that would give the Reds permission to discuss personal terms with the player and complete the transfer.

Laudrup will obviously be keen to tempt Joe Allen to stay on at the Liberty Stadium, but he has also previously stated that he doesn't want to keep players who don't want to play for Swansea City.

The manager told Wales Online that he is keen to got the situation sorted out as quickly as possible ahead of the new season which kicks off in less than two weeks.

"Joe Allen showed up today at the training ground, he did not train but I had a small chat with him, but we did not touch the subject right now.

"I did not think it was the proper moment, but we will have to talk about that with the player to see what he wants so we can say something official, otherwise the rumours will go on until August 31, which is not in anyone`s interest.

"On Wednesday he will be back in training with the other two guys who have been at the Olympics and then we will have some talks so it does not go on until the last day of the transfer window."

If Liverpool pay 15million for Joe Allen and Chelsea won't even pay 10million for Victor Moses, then I don't know what planet we are on!
