Laudrup To Take 23-Man Squad To USA
Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has confirmed his 23-man squad for the upcoming USA Summer Tour.
The Swans will depart from Heathrow on Sunday before taking on Colorado Rapids (Denver), Ventura Fusion and San Jose Earthquakes (California) as they continue their pre-season preparations of the season's first match on August 18th at QPR.
Laudrup briefly talked about how motivated his players have been in training recently, saying to the Official Site:
"We have had two weeks of training and the players are working very hard,"
"They are very motivated, which is great."
Laudrup's 23-man squad includes his three new Summer signings - Chico Flores, loanee Jonathan de Guzman and today's new man 'Michu'.
Michel Vorm, Ashley Williams, Alan Tate, Leon Britton, Andrea Orlandi, Danny Graham, Wayne Routledge, Garry Monk, Luke Moore, Angel Rangel, Kemy Agustien, Mark Gower, Gerhard Tremmel, Fede Bessone, Chico, Jonathan De Guzman, Gwion Edwards, Jazz Richards, Nathan Dyer, Stephen Dobbie, Leroy Lita, Ben Davies, Michu.
Missing from the squad are Olympic trio Joe Allen, Scott Sinclair and Neil Taylor. Others not travelling are youngsters David Cornell, Darnel Situ, Curtis Obeng, Lee Lucas, Daneil Alfei, James Loveridge, Scott Tancock, Kurtis March and Rory Donnelly.
The squad will return on 2nd August before hosting two friendlies at the Liberty Stadium. The first against Blackpool on Tuesday 7th August and the second against Stuttgart on Saturday 11th August.
