Sinclair Set For Contract Talks After Olympics

Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair says he'll have talks with the club about his future after the Olympic Games, as he looks forward to playing for the GB team from July 26th.

His future has been in doubt recently as talks were put on hold following Brendan Rodgers' move to Liverpool, but chairman Huw Jenkins was keen to point out that the player wanted to wait to speak to the new manager first, before committing to a new long term deal.

The Olympics will add further delay to Sinclair settling his future one way or the other as he's still yet to sit down with Michael Laudrup about a new deal, as his current one expires next Summer.

Talking about the new boss, Sinclair said:

"I obviously saw him arriving on television, but I`ll do the Olympics before I get back to Swansea and speak to him,"

"I saw him as a player at Barcelona and Real Madrid when he was winning La Liga, and also at Ajax when he was one of the best players in the world.

"But I`m not too sure what he`s got in store and what he`s going to bring to the team.

"Hopefully he`ll keep the same style as the fans and we can do as well as last year.

"I`m sure he will come in and have a lot to say and a lot to teach to all of us.

"If we get to the (Olympic) final we`ve got just one week before the Premier League kicks off and it`s going to be real tight. "But I`m not sure if it will be a problem because we`ll be doing the same things, training and playing games.

"The only difference is that we`ll be going straight into competitive games rather than playing friendlies.

"I`ve kept myself in good shape over the summer, had a good rest and I`m ready to go now and be playing again."

Sinclair confirmed he'll have talks with the club when he returns from GB Team duty:

"All I`m concentrating on at the moment is the Olympics.

"When I get back to Swansea after the Games we`ll have talks then."
