'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Allen Proud To Be In GB Olympic Team

Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen said he was 'proud' to be named in the GB Olympic football team.

The young Welshman was one of three Swans players to be named in Stuart Pearce's squad, as he joins follow club mates Neil Taylor and Scott Sinclair.

There are five Welsh players in the 18-man squad, the other Welsh players are Craig Bellamy, Ryan Giggs and Aaron Ramsey.

Last season's loan player Steven Caulker has also been called up for the Games, which start on Thursday 26th July.

Allen said:

'There's a good representation from Swansea and Wales, so it shows that Welsh football is in a positive place at the moment.

'It's a proud moment for me and my family - and, of course, Swansea City.'
