Sigurdsson To Snub Rodgers' Liverpool For Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the latest favourites to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson.

According to German newspaper Bild, who were the first to report that the Swans had a £6.8m bid accepted for the midfielder, managerless Spurs are favourites to sign the 22 year-old.

Bild believe that the London club have agreed a bid of around £8m with Hoffenheim for Sigurdsson.

Surprisingly, it now seems that the former Swansea City loanee will choose to join Spurs, and not to follow Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool.

One thing that is for certain - the Swans will fail to make his loan move into a permanent one this Summer. Hoffenheim have realised they can attract a bigger fee for the youngster, plus the player himself will be lured to a big money move to either Spurs or Liverpool.

A Liverpool move would seem the most likely for the Icelandic player, what with them actually having a manager, and one that he has worked with before both at Swansea City and Reading.

Sigurdsson will have to make a quick decision on where he wants to play his football next season as Hoffenheim have given him a deadline of 30th June. If he hasn't completed a move by then, he will start pre-season training at the German side.

A great player, if he's this good at 22 imagine how good he'll be in just a few years. A great player with an eye for goal, a bargain for whoever signs him which unfortunately won't be us
