Jones Set To Stay At Wigan Athletic

Jones Set To Stay At Wigan Athletic

Sky Sports News 'understands' that Graeme Jones is set to stay at Wigan Athletic as talks with Swansea City appear to have broken down.

While the Evening Post reported this morning that Graeme Jones was back in the front running for the job, Sky Sports believe that Swansea City will have to look elsewhere for Brendan Rodgers' replacement.

Conflicting reports but it appears that there is some doubt over the move, due to conflicting reasons according to reports. Some suggest that the Swans are going to make a second attempt to persuade him to take the job, while others say that he prefers to stay as a number two to Roberto Martinez at Wigan Athletic.

It's gone slightly quiet on the new manager front as chairman Huw Jenkins has a break away in Europe, the work will soon continue as the Swans are falling behind the likes of Norwich City and West Brom - the other two recent clubs looking for a new manager. The Canaries have moved quickly to replace Paul Lambert, as they look set to appoint Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton.

Although Sky Sports News are ruling out a move for Jones to Swansea, he still remains second favourite with the bookies to take over at the Liberty Stadium.
