'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jenkins Hopeful Of Completing Sigurdsson Move

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says Sigurdsson's permanent move to the club has been delayed due to him being on holiday.

Following Brendan Rodgers' move to Liverpool this week, the big question on everyone's lips is where Gylfi Sigurdsson will be playing his football next season.

While Hoffenheim deny they have any agreement with the Swans for the young midfielder, Jenkins says they have agreed a fee and personal terms. He also told Sky Sports News that he moves to complete the move next week following his return from holiday.

'We have agreed a fee and personal terms but the problem is he has gone away to Europe on holiday and that has delayed the finalising of it.

'We are hopeful of getting things moving next week, hopefully we can tie that up and get one or two things finished off.'

If Swansea City did complete the signing of Sigurdsson for around 7m, it would soften the blow of losing the best manager the club has had in decades. It'll be quite remarkable if they do without a manager in place as yet.

Hopeful? I've heard that word before, he doesn't sound too confident, I really hope he does sign
