Rodgers Leaves Swansea City For Liverpool

Swansea City face another Pre-Season of searching for a new manager as Brendan Rodgers is expected to sign a three year deal to take over at Liverpool.

It has now been confirmed that the Swans will look for a new manager this Summer following Rodgers' decision to accept a job offer at Anfield.

Former manager Roberto Martinez looked set to take over Kenny Dalglish at the Merseyside club, but after holding talks with the club's owners, he didn't take the job and declared his future with Wigan Athletic.

The Swans were then approached on Tuesday night for permission to speak to Brendan Rodgers, which they accepted. The 39 year-old then today quickly agreed to take the job, and he is expected to be officially unveiled as Liverpool's new boss on Thursday.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Respect is obviously something Rodgers doesn't know about. Now he joins Martinez as someone with no standards. Nothing he can say will make any Swans fan forgive him. The man is no longer part of any Swansea memory----he ceases to be............ Amen.

lots of managers get promotion and keep their team up in the first season, remember Ipswich Town 2000/2001 season 5th place spot and Europe, relegated the following season, Brendan still hasn't proved he can cut it in the top flight just yet, one season means nowt. If he does fail, he couldn't have picked a nicer club to fail at

look at the end of the day i dont think there are many managers in his position that would have turned down the job.... i understand where your coming from but he got you to the epl got you to stay up with ease.... now let him have a chance to see if he can go up the ladder sure it might not work out but dont you think he deserves his chance..... he wasn't my first choice for the job but i'll back and give him the time he needs anyways i hope you get a decent replacement and good luck for the new season i must admit its great watching you lot play proper football

What would you say muffdaddy if this had happened to your team? Whatever you say it's a betrayal--he hasn't completed what he set out to do at Swansea. It's all about greed and anyhow Liverpool is a poisoned chalice, a once great club living on dreams, no manager can get the success Liverpool once achieved. I personally hope he fails miserably.
