Agustien Eyes Long Term Future At Swansea City

Kemy Agustien says he'd like to stay at Swansea City for a 'long while' as he looks set to sign a new 2-year contract at the Liberty Stadium.

The Dutch midfielder impressed at the start of the Premier League campaign, adding a much needed physical presence in midfield but injury again hindered his progress, and limited him to just 13 League appearances.

His current contract expires this Summer, but Agustien said he's delighted to stay and sign a new deal:

"The Premier League is the stage I want to play on. I`ve worked hard to make that dream come true and now that I am there I want to stay here for a while,"

"Hopefully I can stay here with Swansea City for a long while.

"This season was perfect for me and I was really part of the team.

"Unfortunately I`ve had to deal with a couple of injuries but I have felt part of the team.

"The manager felt the same and it is great to sign a new contract.

"I`m really glad to stay, it feels great to be part of Swansea City right now."

Agustien is already looking forward to next season and he hopes to play a much bigger role and avoid injury:

"I want to hit next season feeling fresh."

"Nobody would have thought we would have ended the season in 11th,"

"We`ve worked hard as a team under an excellent manager and we`ve surprised everyone.

"But I do think there were more points that we could have got, home and away, but we can forget about that now and enjoy the fact we finished 11th.

"Everybody always says the next season is going to be difficult but I have a huge amount of belief in our team.

"We have lots of qualities and strength and we will continue with our style."
