Vorm Praise For Swansea City Fans
Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has paid tribute to the fans after winning three awards in the club's end of season presentation evening.
The Dutchman, one of the best bargain buys the club has probably ever made, has picked up a lot praise this year for his excellent saves, overall ability and for playing such a big part in helping the team avoid relegation.
Vorm won the away, supporters' and players' player of the year award.
He has kept 13 clean sheets in the Premier League this season, an impressive stat - averaging one every 3 games.
Talking about the Swansea City fans, Vorm said:
'The Swansea fans have been unbelievable. We play in front of 20,000 at home but it feels like 30,000 or 40,000,'
'When we go away, even if we lose games they are always singing. They love Swansea and they support us when we are losing and that's special.
'When you win awards which supporters vote for it is very special. In my first season at Utrecht I won the supporters' award for best player and it is also special.
'And to get one from my team-mates is also special.'
He also says it's been a special season for him, Swansea and for Wales too:
'For me Swansea was new and I did not know what to expect. After a couple of weeks of training I knew there was a lot of talent in the team and we play good football,'
'I knew it would be a good season.
'It started well and got better and better, but I could not have predicted what would happen over the past ten months.
'It's been a very special season for me and also for Swansea and Wales.'
