Rodgers Feeling Proud Despite United Defeat

Rodgers Feeling Proud Despite United Defeat

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers says he felt proud after yesterday's game at Manchester United - despite losing 2-0.

Alex Ferguson's side were looking to score as many goals as possible to get closer to Manchester City's superior goal difference.

They were 2-0 up at half time but the Swans held out well to prevent them from boosting their hopes of winning another Premier League title.

Rodgers says he left Old Trafford feeling proud after another 'fantastic' performance:

"We have lost the game, but it`s not just about winning for me and I felt our performance was fantastic,"

"Considering this was our first visit here, and that a lot of our players have never played at this level before, I came away at the end feeling proud.

"It was always going to be a difficult game for us against a terrific side and we started it well.

"We got into some really good areas of the pitch but couldn`t find the final ball, then we conceded two disappointing goals.

"But what I noticed after Ashley Young scored the second was that he sprinted in to get the ball back and get the game restarted.

"That tells you that he thought they could get a load of goals against us, so for us to regroup and perform as we did in the second half tells you all about the resilience and talent of my team."
