Sigurdsson: I Would Love To Stay At Swansea City

Gylfi Sigurdsson says he'd love to stay at Swansea City, but concedes a decision on where his future lies is out of his hands.

The popular goalscoring midfielder has been in sensational form since joining the Swans on loan back in January, averaging a goal in every two League games.

That form has attracted interest from a number of other Premier League clubs including today's opposition Manchester United, plus Newcastle United and Arsenal.

The 22 year-old says he wants to stay in the Premier League next season, instead of staying in the German Bundesliga with Hoffenheim.

However, Gylfi admits that he's still under contract at Hoffenheim:

'I'm their employee.

'All I can say is what I have said. I want to stay in the Premier League. I have always wanted to play in this league from when I young.

'I would love to stay at Swansea.

'It will all be sorted one way or the other in the summer.'

His form at Swansea City hasn't gone unnoticed at his club, as Hoffenheim's fans have been chanting his name in matches as they look to convince their manager Babbel to keep hold of him during the Summer.

'I heard from one of the boys the other day about the fans,'

'It's difficult to say if I miss the club. I have friends there but I wasn't playing, was hardly ever really happy.

'I just want to play football, but I was training, sitting on the bench, training again. Every week.'

Swansea City have recently been told to increase their bid for Sigurdsson if they do want to make the move permanent.

It's been reported that his club are asking for around £8.2m for his services. Are the Swans willing to pay that sort of cash?
