Swansea Will Be First To Know On Sigurdsson
Hoffenheim have made a promise to Swansea City that they'll be the first to know on the situation regarding Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Evening Post is today reporting that the German side have promised to inform the Swans first on their decision as to whether or not they will sell much wanted midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
According to other sources, Swansea City have had an undisclosed bid rejected for the 22 year-old.
Sigurdsson I'm sure is Rodgers' number one target for the Summer, and chairman Huw Jenkins explained that the player's future is still in Hoffenheim's hands:
'At this stage what's important is Hoffenheim's views on what Gylfi Sigurdsson does next season,'
'Whether they want to sell is Hoffenheim's decision, not ours.
'We have got to wait until they tell us they are prepared to sell Gylfi before we can make a move.
'It's difficult to say when that might happen because they have had a few changes in personnel behind the scenes over there.
'But there is no rush at our end and the agreement we do have is that they will keep us informed of what they decide to do.
'They have told us that we will be the first to know what's happening with Gylfi.'
Jenkins says they are in contact with a number of other clubs as they're keeping their options open in regards to signing new players, he added:
'Gylfi has had a big impact since he came over in January and that's been great news for us and for him,'
'But you always know when you bring loan players in is that what happens after the loan spell is pretty much out of your control.
'We would obviously like Gylfi to stay here and be part of our plans next season, but we have to see what his existing club think.
'We have been speaking to them, but then we are speaking to quite a number of clubs at the moment and looking at different options.'
