'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers Meets Chairman To Discuss Summer Targets

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers says he's had another meeting with chairman Huw Jenkins to discuss his transfer targets for the Summer pre-season.

Following false speculation linking the Irishman with the Spurs job, which will be kept filled by Harry Redknapp, Rodgers is involved in regular meetings to discuss and plan how the club can continue to grow and improve in one of the biggest Leagues in world football.

Rodgers said:

'I met with the chairman again this afternoon.

'It is ongoing. We have got a number of targets, we want to retain our hunger and at this level you have to always be striving to improve and we will be looking to bring in a number of players in order to do that.

'It is going be a tough season next season. We are no longer the newcomers to the league.

'We want to keep developing, our work is continual on and off the field. We want to prepare as quickly as we can and in order to do that we want to bring in hungry players for next season.'

One of his main targets will be current loanee Gylfi Sigurdsson, but it's been reported that the Swans will need to significantly increase their bid if they wish to sign him permanently.
