Richards Hopes For New Contract At Swansea

Richards Hopes For New Contract At Swansea

Jazz Richards says he hopes to secure his future at Swansea City with a new contract.

The young full back, who can also play in midfield, has found it difficult to earn himself a regular first team place ahead of first choice right back Angel Rangel.

Despite the lack of first team games, Richards says he's hoping to sign a new contract at the Liberty Stadium.

'By now I hoped to have played more games,'

'I played games when I was a first-year pro that I didn't expect to play.

'But once you do, you just want to play more.

'In a team of top quality it's hard, but I'm just looking to play well and get another chance soon.

'Angel is a quality player so I've got to work hard every day just to push for that spot.

'I'm pushing for my next contract too — I want to secure my place at Swansea.'

Richards said he also hopes to be more involved in the last few games of the season:

'There are a few games left and I'm hoping to play before the season's up, but I've got to wait and see what the gaffer wants to do,'

'I'm ready, I've been ready for a while. I've just got to take my chance.

'The manager said at the start of the season he was going to give me a chance and he has.

'He said I might play again before the end of the season, but I'm just being patient, playing in the reserves and hoping for the possibility.

'Like everyone, I want to play more games next year and become a regular.'
