Gylfi Sigurdsson says the team owed the home win against Blackburn Rovers to the fans after their poor performance at QPR in midweek.
Brendan Rodgers' side showed a great response after the 3-0 defeat on Wednesday, easing past Blackburn to jump up to 12th position in the Premier League table.
Sigurdsson was on target again in the game, grabbing his first goal at the Liberty Stadium, and it was another excellent strike from the loanee. He curled in a superb shot past Paul Robinson before Nathan Dyer doubled the lead before half time.
Swansea City players and the manager Brendan Rodgers all spoke about how they owed the fans after one of their worst performances of the season at QPR on Wednesday. They certainly did that with an entertaining home win, full of goals and attacking quality.
Sigurdsson said:
'One of the first things we said in the huddle was that the victory was for the fans,'
'We owed the fans that one for our performance at QPR on Wednesday night.
'Since I've been here the fans have been fantastic. Everywhere we've gone, the fans have travelled with us all over the country. They've filled the away end and given us amazing support.
'I have never been in a team where the boys are so together; as team-mates and friends. The huddle demonstrated that togetherness because it was a big relief to celebrate the victory after four defeats; getting the three points; a clean sheet and to put in a fantastic performance in front of our own fans.'
'Blackburn had put us under a bit of pressure in the first 10 minutes with a lot of balls into the box. But we defended well and got the all-important goal. That gave us a lot of confidence and the second one from Nathan (Dyer) was massive.'
