Rodgers: We Let The Fans Down At QPR

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers says they let the fans down at QPR on Wednesday night, as they lost 3-0 at Loftus Road.

Both Rodgers and Vorm have said that that was the worst performance of the season, and that they need to respond on Saturday when they host Blackburn Rovers at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans must avoid a fifth consecutive defeat as the goals have dried up in recent games, following a good run of form earlier in 2012.

Rodgers said:

'Against QPR I thought it was the worst we have been, it was just too easy and that is not like us,'

'We have a perfect game on Saturday now and we need to respond.

'I have always said we needed to win one game now in these last five games.

'We owe the supporters and I apologise to them because they travel everywhere for us and give us incredible backing.

'I think we let them down at QPR. In fact, I know we let them down so we need to give them back something back this weekend.

'As I said, we need to re-focus and get our concentration back on the game.'

Rodgers also ruled out the possibility of his side becoming complacent:

'I wouldn't like to think (we have been complacent) but I think it is one where the results maybe dictate otherwise,'

'I have always said you cannot take your foot off the pedal because this is what happens.

'If you believe you're safe and you believe everything that you read and people tell you, you know can what can happen.

'One loss turns into four losses and that can escalate very quickly, so it is up to me and the players now to re-focus. Saturday is a big game for us.'

Rodgers felt his side didn't press to their usual level at QPR in midweek:

'The foundation for us has been clean sheets and I have always said to the players when we press well, we play well.

'I don't think we pressed anywhere near to the level against QPR and I don't think we passed anywhere near that level.

'It was loose, it was sloppy and although we had control of the game, there was too many misplaced passes and a lack of end product.

'It is not often I have had to say that during my time here and I am not going to kill the players because they have been absolutely incredible.

'We just need to find the solution in the last five games that will see us over and hopefully finish a season which has been incredible up until now.'

It's not only the players who have taken their eye off the ball but more so the manager I think. Too much praise seems to have been heaped on his shoulders and the uncertainty about his future sems to have unsettled the team. Why does Rodgers say we need one more win.........We need to try to win ALL our remaining games---people pay good money to see the team perform at their best EVERY game. That is not good management.
