Blackpool Delighted To Re-Sign Dobbie On Loan

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway says he is 'absolutely delighted' to have Stephen Dobbie back at the club on loan.

Vital Swansea reported some months back that the attacking midfielder, who also plays as a striker was set to join the Championship outfit, but Rodgers initially blocked the move - deciding to hold on to Dobbie as back-up.

However, the Swans have enough options in his position, with loanees Gulfi Sigurdsson and Josh McEachran arriving in the New Year.

Dobbie went on loan to Blackpool in the 2009/10 when he was out of favour with then-Swansea boss Paulo Sousa. He played a big role in their late surge into the play-offs - which they won to get promotion into the Premier League.

Holloway said:

"I am absolutely delighted to welcome Stephen back to the club,'

'I have tried to sign him a number of times since his successful loan in 2010 and he will give us a massive boost for the run in.

'He had a number of other options and I am delighted he chose us.

'I would also like to thank Brendan Rodgers and Swansea for allowing him to come and I am like our supporters, I can't wait to see him pull on the Tangerine shirt again.'

Dobbie has struggled to earn himself a regular first team place this season, after an excellent run of form at the end of last season. He scored 5 goals in his last 5 games.

Holloway will be hoping he find that form to help the Seasiders get up into the play-offs for the second time.
