'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers Turned Down Better Job Offer In Summer

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he turned down a move to another club last Summer and the chance to increase his salary.

While the Swans boss didn't say which club he rejected before the start of the Premier League season in South Wales, he did say that it would have been for more money.

It's encouraging to know that it's not all about money for Brendan Rodgers, but the 'well-being' of his family, as he told BBC Sport that his daughter is settled at a local school.

Rodgers said:

'I could've gone in the summer and got more money, but it wasn't about me then, it was the well-being of my family,'

'And I wanted to ensure this club was protected by getting players here signed for longer term.

'Once we'd done that, I always said I would then commit myself and I've done that. What the future holds, you just never ever know.

'But I always have a sense of the present and the present now is that I'm very happy at this great club and I'll continue to fight for what is a great club and a great city.'

Rodgers still remains realistic and doesn't want to commit to saying how long he'd be manager at the Liberty Stadium.

The Irishman said that while he'd love to stay for another ten years, but you can't guarantee anything in football.
