Caulker: Swansea Are Aiming For Top 10 Finish

Swansea City's on loan defender Steven Caulker says the team are aiming to stay in the top ten until the end of the season.

Whilst the aim this year was simply to avoid relegation, the Swans seem to have the confidence and arrogance to be aiming for a lot higher - given their excellent progress and their achievements to reach tenth place in the top flight table.

The 2-1 victory at West Brom on Saturday put Brendan Rodgers' side up to 10th and they'll aim to go above 9th-place Norwich City on Saturday when they host them at the Liberty Stadium.

Caulker talked about the team's confidence and aims for the season:

"We`re looking to finish in the top half of the table.

"We`ll take our three points from this weekend and look forward to next week. We want to continue our good run.

"Our home form has been fantastic this year, only losing the one game, the boys are really confident we can get a result and we relish every game at home."

Caulker talked about this weekend's opponents:

"This year and last year as well, promoted clubs proved they are capable of doing well at this level,"

"Ourselves and Norwich are mid-table, with QPR not far behind. Credit where it`s due, all three teams are doing well.

"All the three newly-promoted teams have been ready for it. We are all doing really well and we`re all having our impact on the Premier League. Against Norwich it will be interesting to see who`s got the points.

"In pre-season we were looking at teams and looking at how we were going to play.

"We have confidence to get the ball and play how we do so we`ve never feared anyone. We`ve proved that on the pitch."

Caulker also complimented manager Brendan Rodgers:

"He`s been fantastic.

"From the second I came here he put his arm around me. He puts confidence in all the boys to play the way we play, so I can`t speak highly enough of him.

"He`s not just a great manager, he`s a great coach as well.

"The training sessions he puts on are brilliant and that lets us go out there and play with freedom.

"It`s been nice because I`ve been playing every game when I`ve been fit.

"I`m delighted to be here because they`re a great club that play great football.

"I did speak to Spurs but obviously they wanted me to get the games and I wanted to get the games.

"I think it`s in everyone`s best interests for me to stay here and keep doing what I`m doing."
