Rodgers 'Bitterly Disappointed' To Draw vs Chelsea

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers said he was bitterly disappointed to only draw against Chelsea.

Former Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair looked like scoring the vital goal to give us a win against the Blues, but they equalised with a cruel late equaliser, a shot that deflected off Neil Taylor and into the net.

Rodgers said they were 'bitterly disappointed' to only draw against Chelsea:

"I thought it was a terrific performance, we deserved to win the game.

"We are bitterly disappointed to have conceded right at the end. The players were magnificent, we dominated the game with the ball in the first half and we had good control defensively in the second half.

"We restricted Chelsea`s chances and we were just punished late on. I am very proud of the players and to feel that way after drawing with Chelsea is pleasing, but we felt we should have had the three points."

Swansea backed off and conceded the initiative, should have gone for the second. I like Swansea because of Brendan but a draw was fair in the end, Chelsea had most of the ball in the 2nd half, harsh but fair.

Agreed. Goals win games. Swans bossed the first half for most of it. Chelsea did in the second until the sending off (for 10mins at least). We both scored a goal a piece. In my eyes what Brendan said was same for both sides. I am dissapointed not to have held out but take it on the chin. We can have as much possession as we want but Goals win games so when Nathan Dyer has the ball in 3 against 3 situation and space in front...Attack it instead of stopping and letting 7 get back! and one day we won't be saying we are dissapointed with drawing with Chelsea and oh how far we've come...Others might actually say it about us. C'mon City!
