Allen Insists Swansea Must Keep Bale Quiet

Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen says they must keep fellow Welshman and Spurs winger Gareth Bale quiet in today's game to boost our chances of getting a good result.

Bale, hailed as the 'perfect' footballer by his Spurs boss Harry Redknapp tore Norwich City apart in their 2-0 win against the Canaries, could do the same against us at the Liberty Stadium today.

Whilst teams can double up and try to mark special players like Bale out of games, Redknapp now says he's developed his game even further - stopping teams from being able to do this. Scott Sinclair has sometimes struggled to cope when the opposition try to double-mark him, while Bale has no trouble in causing problems and scoring goals.

Allen, a year younger than Bale, said the team must try to limit his threat:

'I've known him for two or three years, since I've been in the Wales squad, and everyone knows my opinion,'

'He's one of the best players in the world and has proved that over the past year.

'I definitely rate him that highly, especially when you consider how young he is.

'He's got the footballing world at his feet. He's got so many attributes — pace, power, a great shot — and over the past few seasons he's really kicked on.'

'There are two sides to it, We'll look forward to facing Gareth, but we also know he's a danger.

'Hopefully we can keep him quiet as much as possible. But Spurs have got quality all over the pitch.'

and we did keep bale quiet, he didn't have a big impact in the game. thanks for the kind views, at least we provide good attractive football in the premier league which redknapp welcomes.
