Monk Injured For 4-6 Months

Andy Robinson is out injured for the next 2 weeks while skipper Garry Monk faces 4-6 months on the sidelines.

He said: "The consultant seems to think it's going to take me four to six months to get back,''

"I think everything that could have gone wrong with the knee has gone wrong.

"Obviously I'm bitterly disappointed. It is a big season for myself as club captain and the team as a whole.

"But I am determined to do all the rehabilitation and get back sooner rather than later.''

Jackett added: "We are all disappointed for Garry,''

"But he is a good professional who has done really well for me over the last two years.

"I know he has the character to bounce back from this and I'm convinced he will still have a big part to play in the run in.''

Jackett will also be without another defender as Alan Tate is suspended for the next 3 games as Steven Watt looks likely to replace Monk in the centre of midfield on Saturday at Oldham.

Yes move into the transfer market and buy a left back!! I hope that Monk and Robinson have a quick and simple recoverey.

While i dont wish an injury on any player, these could be a blessing in disguise if some decent new talent is brought in.

it is a blow that they are injured but personally i think this is good chance to give watt a run out in the 1st team

Both experienced players who will be out until next month. Now that most teams have their squads for this season, it may be that some good players, surplus to requirements, could come our way.

This may be the turning point for watt and may bring a change without monk who isnt on form. Lets bring in two players a defender and a utility M .I do hope they get fit and wish them a speedy recovery.
