Den Haag Interested In Swansea City Duo?

Latest reports are linking Swansea City wingers Tom Butler and David Cotterill with a move to Ado Den Haag.

The two clubs have built up an excellent relationship, mainly thanks to one of the Swansea City directors - John van Zweden. The Swans have visited Holland for Summer Tours and have featured in friendly matches against their Dutch friends.

The two clubs' strong relationship saw former Den Haag duo Ferrie Bodde and Dorus De Vries switch to the South Wales club.

Now, two players could go the opposite away, as reports are merging this week that the Eredivisie side are interested in signing out of favour wingers David Cotterill and Tom Butler.

Both players can't even get on the subs bench at Swansea City, and have failed to impress at the club in recent seasons.

Cotterill, a £600,000 signing from Sheffield United, has shown glimpses of quality but never enough consistency to earn him a regular place.

Tom Butler meanwhile, simply hasn't been up to Championship or Premier League standard for some years now. His last moment of real glory was scoring a brace in Swansea's FA Cup triumph over then Premier League side Sheffield United, back in 2007 when they were a League One outfit.

The fans criticised Brendan Rodgers' decision to offer him a new 1-year contract in the Summer. The Swans boss decided to offer him a deal as he said he had yet to see him play, while the Swans supporters thought it was better if he joined another club.

Who knows yet as to whether or not Den Haag are interested, but one thing is for sure is that it would be better for all parties if the duo left the club.
