Allen: We'll Learn A Lot From United Defeat

Swansea City midfielder says the team will learn a lot from Saturday's home defeat against Manchester United.

The title holders ended their unbeaten start to the season at home, as Hernandez took full advantage of Rangel's mistake to finish at close range from Giggs' cross.

The Swans will be tough to beat at home, and even Manchester United didn't find it a 'walk in the park' at the Liberty Stadium. Clear cut chances in front of either goal were few and far between really as neither goalkeeper was called into action too often.

Allen said:

'Some people have been shocked this season and I'm sure Manchester United went away knowing they'd been in a tough game,'

'We can take pride from that.

'Teams will be fearful of travelling to the Liberty Stadium because we do not make it easy for anyone.

'We will learn a lot from United. To be competing against a team like that as well as we did - things are looking bright.

'It's why they are where they are and we have to try to get it into our game. To have lost to those types of goals shows how close we are.

'The professionalism in the United team is incredible. They certainly know how to win games, and that is something we can look up to and try to emulate. We can try to learn a thing or two from them.

'We feel we are going to grow as the season goes on. We've had some pretty tough games, we've got some big teams out of the way.'

The young Welshman also spoke about the experience of playing against Manchester United and his idol Ryan Giggs:

'He made a point of coming over and speaking to me when I got on which was nice, he's been an idol of mine for many years,'

'To have got the chance to play against him was pretty special. Every single player at this club will remember games like these.

'It's a shame we couldn't go back to our friends and families and say we picked up a point or even three against a team like Manchester United, but it's an experience we will never forget and hopefully we will get the chance to do it over and over again.'
