'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gower: Anfield Miss Was 'Horrible'

Mark Gower concedes that it'll be hard for him to forget anytime soon about his 'horrible' miss in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Liverpool.

The Swansea City midfielder had an amazing chance to 'become a hero' and score in front of the Kop at Anfield. Graham headed Dyer's cross back to Gower, but from 12 yards out he blazed his effort over the bar and high into the crowd.

It was a massive chance to claim an amazing three points away at a place like Liverpool, and unsurprisingly Gower admits he was devastated:

'Let's face it, how often am I going to get a chance like that at the Kop end, a chance to become a bit of a hero?

'It was horrible really. I snatched at it and I reckon I'm going to be thinking about that for a long, long time. I'm devastated but must make sure I don't dwell on it.

'I don't want it to distract from our performance.

'We had belief already but this has bred even more belief - and none of us can wait to play Manchester United at home in our next game. It's just a shame it's two weeks away. We're all counting down the hours.'
