Dalglish: Our Performance Was Disappointing

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish was disappointed with his side's performance as they could only draw 0-0 at home to Swansea City.

The Reds started the game well at Anfield, with Carroll and Suarez having the best chances for the home side early on, but the Swans started to settle more into the game and they had a good spell as they ended the half well.

The second half saw Swansea City have much more possession in the first, and thankfully the defence had less work to do up until the final 10 minutes or so when Dalglish's side looked for a late and undeserved winner.

Mark Gower missed Swansea's best chance of the whole game to claim all three points. Graham's header at the back post picked out Gower but he blazed a shot high over the bar from close range.

Dalgish said:

'I thought the performance was disappointing,'

'Swansea did well, they passed and moved it well, they had one chance in the second half where you'd expect the lad to do a little bit better and it might have changed the whole game.

'For us its a disappointing performance. The lads go away for international duty now and we'll sort it when they come back.

'Their keeper made a couple of good saves at the end. At least we were testing them and came a bit closer. If we don't hit the post we get it on target and he saves it.

'There's not much you can do, but we got some decent opportunities. I don't think we passed it as well as we could and when we got it back we gave it straight away, so we're disappointed with the performance.

'There's a great responsibility on us at home to try to push the game and force the pace, but we gave the ball away too quickly and too cheaply.'
