Emnes: I'm Glad I Stayed At Middlesbrough

Marvin Emnes says he's glad to made the choice to stay at Middlesbrough instead of joining Premier League side Swansea City.

Manager Brendan Rodgers was keen to sign the striker permanently this Summer following a loan spell last season, but he was unable to prize Emnes away from the Riverside Stadium.

The 23 year-old has proved already why Rodgers wanted to sign him, after scoring 10 goals already this season in 18 appearances.

The Swans were hoping to pull off a double striker swoop from Middlesbrough, with Leroy Lita joining the club but Emnes stayed put.

Emnes believes Middlesbrough will soon be a Premier League club again:

'I am glad I stayed now, even though Swansea are in the Premier League, because we will be soon.'
