Gerrard To Miss Swansea City Match

Liverpool have confirmed that influential midfielder Steven Gerrard will miss Saturday's game against Swansea City.

The Anfield legend had recently recovered from a long-term groin injury, having played a handful of games in the last month or so, but he'll be sidelined again to undergo treatment.

A Liverpool statement read:

'Steven Gerrard has now undergone treatment to clear out all infection from his right ankle, which has been placed in a protective plaster cast.

'The player will not be available for this weekend's game against Swansea City or for the upcoming England friendlies against Spain and Sweden. Steven will now continue his rehabilitation programme under the guidance of the club's medical staff.'

Gerrard's absence is a boost for the Swans as we all know how influential he can be for his club, but Rodgers' men still have the likes of Suarez, Downing, Adam and Kuyt to contend with.
