'If It's Football, It's Vital'

4 in 4 Gives Graham Plenty of Confidence

Four goals in four games for Danny Graham has given him a big boost after a rather slow start to the season for the new striker.

The 26 year-old, who joined in the Summer for a record £3m fee, failed to score in his first five League games for the club, and some fans quickly got on his back for a lack of goals.

However, Graham explained that it's taken a little time for the goals to come because he had to adjust to a different style at his new club this season.

The frontman scored an own goal against Bolton Wanderers in Saturday's 3-1 home win, but he was glad to go up the other end 20 minutes later and score at the right end.

"It did kind of hurt a bit because that was the first goal we`ve conceded at home and the boys have done really well this season.

"David Wheater went forward and he was my man so there was a bit of honesty in trying to help the boys out.

"It took a deflection off Angel, it`s hit my shin pad and gone straight in.

"If I tried to score one like that it wouldn`t happen, but, because I`m in my own box, it`s flown in.

"I can`t repeat what (Garry) Monk said to me straight after the goal, but it wasn`t nice.

"That happens in football. It`s about how you deal with things and I had the chance to seal the game and took it.

"I can laugh now, but if they`d have come back and equalised it would be a different story."

Graham added that he knew the goals would soon come for him:

"It took a little time because the way Swansea play is different to what I`ve been used to at Watford,"

"It`s a different set of players so you have to work on it, but I think it`s coming together now.

"We`re creating a lot more chances than we did at the start of the season.

"I knew the goals would come if the boys kept creating chances.

"It`s just a matter of not letting it get to you and getting in the right places.

"I managed to score, but the win`s the important thing after what happened last week at Wolves.

"I`ve just scored four in four in the Premier League and that would fill anyone with confidence."

Rodgers was delighted with Graham`s performance, saying: "He`s outstanding, he scored two goals - one for them and one for us - and could have had a couple more.

"I don`t think anyone in the stadium had any doubt he would score at the end."

To be fair to Graham, he has not let his head drop and now looks much more confident.
