Gower In New Contract Talks At Swansea City?
BBC Sport is today reporting that Mark Gower is in talks about extending his current contract at Swansea City.
The 33 year-old's current deal expires at the end of the season, but it's expected that he'll sign a new 12-month contract.
The former Southend United midfielder is now in his fourth season at the Liberty Stadium after joining the Swans in June 2008.
Formerly a right winger, Gower has adjusted to a new central midfield role to suit the passing style of football adopted at Swansea City.
Some supporters have been critical of Gower and his performances over the last few years, including this season, but the stats suggest that in the last few games, he's been our most creative player.
Gower will start his 100th League game for the club soon, having started 99 games, scoring 3 goals for the Swans.
Last season, he made 45 appearances, scoring two goals as the team won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
