'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Beattie Happy To Score On His Return From Injury

Swansea City striker Craig Beattie was obviously happy to make a quick return from injury and score in a recent friendly against Llanelli.

The Scottish forward also thought he linked up well will fellow Scot Stephen Dobbie, as they both scored in the 3-0 win last Wednesday.

The 27 year-old is now looking to boost his chances of claiming a first team place having been a regular scorer for the Reserves so far this season.

Beattie said:

'It was a good exercise. A lot of the lads got a good 45 minutes under their belt before the international break to freshen up and some of the young lads came in to get some experience, so it was a good night.

'I'm feeling really good. The specialist told me 10-12 weeks at the start and I've managed to get it down to four so it was good to get 45 minutes and a goal as well.

'We hit them on the break and it was a nice cut back from Dobbs - I managed to get a sidefoot on it and put it in the corner.

'We've not played together much since we have been here but I thought we linked up well.'
