Moras: Swansea City Is The Best Club For Me

Trialist defender Vangelis Moras says he turned down offers from other clubs to join Swansea City.

The Greek international, who scored in this week's 3-0 friendly win against Llanelli is set to sign a contract at the Liberty Stadium which will keep him at the club until January 15th 2012.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has been on the lookout for defenders following the injuries to Steven Caulker and Alan Tate - which has left the Swans boss short of centre backs.

Moras told the Evening Post:

'It's a big opportunity for me to play at Swansea,'

'The Premier League is one of the most important competitions in the world. I will try to do my best to help the team.

'I had interest and other offers from other countries, but I do not want to say who they are because it is not important. I think Swansea is the best solution for me now.'

'I need a little bit of time to get up to match fitness because I have gone four months without playing a first-team game,'

'Playing games like Llanelli (on Thursday night) will only help me. I will try to be ready for the next game.

'I hope I will play games here. I will do my best and try to take the opportunity when Brendan asks me to play.'

Moras also hopes that playing for Swansea City will help him kickstart his international career:

'I hope to be involved with the Greece national team in the future, and it will be easier for me to play for Greece now I have found a team,'

'I have missed out on the qualifiers this time around because it was not possible to be picked without a team.

'I hope to impress both Brendan and the national team coach with my performances for Swansea.'

'Swansea is a very good club and team who try to play football in the right way from behind,'

'This is important because it is not easy for small teams to try to play football.

'I like this way.

'It's been a great experience watching the team in the Premier League.

'Swansea has a very good stadium and team. The supporters are great and they give their best to help the players to try to win the game.'
