Dobbie Hoping To Impress For The Reserves

Dobbie Hoping To Impress For The Reserves

Swansea City's attacking midfielder Stephen Dobbie says he's hoping to earn his first team place back by impressing in tomorrow's Reserve game.

The Swans' second string side face Newcastle United at Parc Y Scarlets on Wednesday night (7pm) in the Barclay's Premier Reserve League South, and Stephen Dobbie is hoping he can impress the management team to boost his chances of starting what would be only his second game of the season.

Dobbie played a vital role at the end of last season, and was a big influence as we won the Championship Play-Off Final, but ever since the opening game away at Manchester City in August, he's been on the substitutes bench ever since.

'Of course, it's a little frustrating that I've not been playing from the start,'

'But in football you know you are going to get your chance if you show the right attitude and patience.

'I've not started since the Man City game, but I'm confident I can work my way back into the team.

'I need to get some game-time under my belt and playing in the reserves will give me that opportunity to top up on sharpness.

'Everyone wants to be starting in the first XI - that's what we're all here for.

'So the guys who are involved with the reserves against Newcastle will be looking to give the gaffer plenty to think about when he picks his side for the game against Stoke on Sunday.'

Also expected to feature for the Reserves on Wednesday are trialist duo Zoltan Liptak and Vangelis Moras.
