Oakes Completes Swansea Move

As expected, goalkeeper Andy Oakes has completed his move to the Swans after putting to paper on a 1-year deal.

The former Walsall shot stopper has been on trial for the last few weeks and confirmed that he was going to sign after the squad returned from their 5-day training camp in Devon.

He had been offered a new contract with the Saddlers but he turned it down following their relegation from League One.

Since releasing Brian Murphy in May, Jackett has been looking for a replacement 'keeper and he'll be hoping that Oakes can push Gueret for the No.1 spot.

I hope Jackett drops Gueret if he plays as badly as he did last season. It doesn't suond as if he's been that good in the pre-season games so hopefully Oakes can come in and do a better job if we need him.

Yes totally agree with you kenny needs to drop him if he isnt playing well unlike last season there is now experienced cover.

I hope Oakes starts and hopefully hes a bit more dominant in his 18 yard box than Willy is!

glad the KJ has signed a new goalkeeper. murphey wasnt giving willy any competition and now oakes could be the 1 to give it. lets just hope now that KJ will give him the opportunity 2 play
